Indonesian table tennis athlete Michael Hartono admitted to undergoing intensive training of up to seven hours every day as part of his efforts to improve his world ranking and open up opportunities to appear in the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.
The 15-year-old youth from Lampung Province is targeting entering the top 50 world rankings in the Youth (U-15) category of the International Table Tennis Federation , so he can take part in the qualifying round for the Youth Olympics.
"My target is to be able to play in the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, on October 31 - November 13," said Michael at an activity themed Table Tennis Ecosystem Synergy for International Achievement, organized by the Indonesia Pingpong League.
