The Indonesian government is preparing a Presidential Regulation on Artificial Intelligence ( AI) as a national governance framework that encourages innovation while ensuring that technology development is carried out ethically, transparently, and accountably.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Digital, Ismail, stated that the regulation is a strategic step for Indonesia to build a responsible and trustworthy AI ecosystem.
"Going forward, Indonesia plans to introduce a Presidential Regulation on Artificial Intelligence . This regulation will provide a clear governance framework to encourage ethical, transparent, and accountable AI development, while ensuring innovation can continue to grow in a trusted environment," Ismail said in a statement confirmed.
