The Ministry of Health in Gaza explained in a statement on Sunday that there were "10 martyrs and 18 wounded within 24 hours," and indicated that this "raises the total number of victims of the Israeli aggression to 72,278 martyrs and 172,013 wounded."
Since dawn on Sunday, the Israeli occupation army has killed 8 Palestinians and wounded 4 others, as a result of air strikes and gunfire in the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.
In the latest attack, a Palestinian was killed by Israeli occupation army fire in the vicinity of the Bani Suheila roundabout, east of Khan Yunis.
The death toll from the bombing that targeted two gatherings of Palestinians in the Bir 19 area of Khan Younis rose to 7 Palestinians, after it had been 6 earlier on Sunday morning, as their bodies arrived at Nasser Hospital, in addition to the injury of 4 others.
Local sources reported artillery shelling and heavy gunfire from Israeli military vehicles in areas east of Khan Younis, within what is known as the "yellow line".
The yellow line is the line to which the Israeli occupation army withdrew inside Gaza as part of the ceasefire agreement in the sector, and it separates the areas of its occupation and complete control from the areas where Palestinians are allowed to be present.
In this context, eyewitnesses said that Israeli warships off the coast of Khan Yunis opened fire towards the city's beach.
In the central Gaza Strip, Israeli helicopters fired machine guns towards areas east of the Bureij refugee camp, with no reports of casualties.
Artillery shelling also targeted the eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip, within the areas located within the yellow line.
Since the ceasefire agreement in Gaza came into effect last October, Israel has committed hundreds of violations by bombing and firing, resulting in the deaths of 692 Palestinians and injuries to 1,895 others.
With American support, Israel launched a war on Gaza on October 8, 2023 that lasted two years and continued in various forms afterward, resulting not only in martyrs and wounded, but also in widespread destruction affecting about 90% of the infrastructure.
