PBSI Indonesian athletes' competitiveness has increased despite the lack of European Tour titles

The Head of the Development and Achievement Division of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PP PBSI) revealed that the competitiveness of Indonesian athletes continues to show positive developments despite not yet winning a title in the 2026 European Tour tournament series.

The European Tour, which includes the Super 300 German Open, Super 1000 All England, and Super 300 Swiss Open, as well as the Orleans Masters, is part of a long-term development process, especially for young players who are starting to get the opportunity to play at the world's elite level.

"While the results haven't met expectations, we've seen quite good progress in terms of performance and progress. The players' competitiveness is evident, especially when facing top world-class players," Eng Hian said in an official statement from the Indonesian Badminton Association.

During the European tour, Indonesian badminton players Alwi Farhan and Putri Kusuma Wardani reached the final of the 2026 Swiss Open. However, both players lost to their respective opponents in the final.
