Pedro Neto escapes UEFA sanctions after pushing a ball boy

Chelsea player Pedro Neto escaped UEFA sanctions but received a stern warning after pushing a ball boy during his team's defeat to PSG in the Champions League.

Last week, UEFA announced it had initiated disciplinary proceedings against Neto for unsportsmanlike conduct in accordance with UEFA's Disciplinary Regulations. The incident occurred in second-half stoppage time as Chelsea were chasing a goal. PSG were leading 4-2 at the time.

Neto pushed a ball boy near the advertising boards while attempting to retrieve the ball for a throw-in. Chelsea then lost 5-2 in the first leg of the round of 16, with the second leg to be played in London.

After the match, Neto said he had apologized to the ball boy. He told TNT Sports that he had only tried to retrieve the ball, while the ball boy was still holding it.

According to Neto's confession, he slightly pushed the ball boy. However, in addition to apologizing, Neto also stated that he had given him the jersey he was wearing.

After the incident, players from both teams gathered on the side of the field before the situation finally calmed down.
