The Central Executive Board of the All-Indonesia Basketball Association strongly condemns all acts of sexual and physical violence, particularly those that befall athletes during national training camps.
The condemnation is a form of Perbasi's commitment to responding to cases of alleged physical and sexual violence that occurred in the Indonesian sport of rock climbing and kickboxing, which are currently being processed by the police.
"I am concerned about the alleged sexual harassment cases that occurred in both sports. If proven, such actions cannot be tolerated, especially when they occur to athletes who are undergoing national training and are fighting for the country's reputation on the international stage," said Nirmala Dewi, Secretary General of the Indonesian Badminton Association.
