Persik coach says Ezra Walian deserves a call-up to the national team
Persik Kediri coach Marcos Reina congratulated his player Ezra Walian who recently received a call-up as one of the 41 players in the Indonesian national team's provisional squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to Reina, Ezra fully deserves the call-up, considering that the player is having his best season in Indonesia's top flight, with six goals and nine assists in 23 matches with Persik.

"No, I didn't speak to him. I only spoke to Ezra and congratulated him," Reina said after her team's 0-3 loss against Persib Bandung at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api  Stadium on Monday.

"It's a great reward for his season because he's had a very good season, scoring goals and providing assists, so he deserves it. I'm happy for him. But yeah, I haven't spoken to the head coach," he added.

Six goals and nine assists are Ezra's best contributions in the Indonesian League since his debut with PSM Makassar in the 2018/2019 season.

In terms of goals, it was in this first season that Ezra had his best season when he scored three goals and one assist to lead Juku Eja as runners-up.
