Indonesian women's singles player Putri Kusuma Wardani advanced to the semifinals of the BWF World Tour Super 300 Swiss Open 2026 after defeating Thailand's Pitchamon Opatniputh in two straight games 21-18, 21-19 in the quarterfinals at St. Jakobshalle.
Putri admitted that she was grateful to have secured the victory despite being under pressure, especially in the second game when she was quite far behind her opponent.
"Overall, I didn't expect to win the second game because I was so far behind from the start," Putri said in an official statement from the Indonesian Badminton Association.
The top seed said Opatniputh played solidly, with a reach advantage thanks to his size and a more prepared defense in the second game.
