St. Kitts and Nevis coach Marcelo Augusto Silva Serrano believes two early goals, both from similar errors, were the turning point in his team's 0-4 defeat to Indonesia in the FIFA World Cup 2026 match at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium.
Marcelo said his team was actually able to start the match well, especially in the first 15 to 20 minutes when the game organization went according to plan.
"We were quite organized early on and even had the first chance. If we had scored first, the game might have turned out differently," Marcelo said in a post-match press conference.
However, he admitted that Indonesia's first two goals came from the same pattern of errors in the back line, which made his team's defensive structure unstable.
"Both goals came from identical mistakes. Our back line lost a bit of organization, and they were able to exploit the space very well," he said.
