The government recommends postponing Umrah due to the situation in the Middle East.
The government has urged the public to temporarily postpone their departure for the Umrah pilgrimage following the escalation of conflict in the Middle East.

The appeal was delivered by Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, after attending the National Commemoration of Nuzulul Quran for 1448 Hijri/2026 AD at the State Palace.

"Indeed, currently, regarding Umrah departures, regulations still advise against postponing departures due to the escalation of the conflict. We don't know how things will develop," he said.

According to Danhil, the appeal is a mitigation measure to ensure the safety of Indonesian citizens who will depart for the Holy Land.

Danhil said that the postponement appeal was the result of coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs  which continues to monitor developments in the security situation in the region.

According to him, the dynamics of the current conflict are still very fluctuating, so mitigation steps are needed.

"The state's focus is of course on the safety of its citizens, as we don't know how the conflict in the Middle East will escalate," he said.

On the other hand, the government continues to accompany Indonesian Umrah pilgrims currently in Saudi Arabia.
