The Saudi Foreign Minister holds a coordination meeting with the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held a coordination meeting in the capital, Riyadh, with the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of a broader consultative meeting of foreign ministers from a group of Arab and Islamic countries.

During the meeting, "the ongoing Iranian escalation in the region was discussed, as well as the importance of continued consultation and coordination of joint efforts among the concerned countries, with the aim of achieving security and stability in the region and protecting its resources from current threats."

This coordination meeting comes at a time when the region is experiencing an unprecedented escalation against the backdrop of the American-Israeli war on Iran, which has entered its third week, and the accompanying intensive Iranian attacks with drones and ballistic missiles that targeted several countries in the region, including Gulf countries, Jordan, Turkey and Azerbaijan, resulting in civilian casualties and damage to vital and oil facilities.

Riyadh hosted a consultative ministerial meeting on Wednesday that included the foreign ministers of 12 Arab and Islamic countries (Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Pakistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan), dedicated to discussing "Iranian aggression".

The participants issued a joint statement condemning the Iranian attacks and demanding that Tehran immediately cease them, stressing the right of countries to defend themselves, and that the future of relations with Iran is linked to respecting the sovereignty of countries and not interfering in their affairs.
