The United States (US) government led by President Donald Trump will receive a total of 10 billion US dollars or around Rp169 trillion from the agreement that allows TikTok to continue operating in its territory
which stated that new investors acquiring shares in TikTok's US entity had paid a fee of 2.5 billion US dollars (Rp. 42.2 trillion) to the government when the deal closed in January.
The group of investors, according to the WSJ report, will continue to make payments until the total reaches 10 billion US dollars.
An investor consortium that includes technology company Oracle along with investment firms Silver Lake and MGX has acquired a stake in TikTok's US entity, TikTok USDS Joint Venture.
The WSJ previously reported that the US government would receive billions of dollars in funding for its role in facilitating the deal.
United States Vice President JD Vance previously stated that TikTok's US entity has a valuation of around US$14 billion (Rp237.4 trillion).
