Two US strategic bombers are heading towards the Middle East

Two US B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers, capable of carrying nuclear weapons, were spotted heading towards the Middle East region.

The Novosti news agency revealed this based on flight tracking data, amid military operations launched by the United States and Israel against Iran.

As of 17:00 Moscow time, the two bombers were located in the Mediterranean Sea off the southern coast of Sicily, heading east.

According to the analyzed data, the two bombers took off at 13:55 Moscow time from RAF Fairford in England. The final destination of the bombers' flight path was not disclosed.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer had previously announced that Britain had responded to a US request to use its military bases to launch strikes against missile depots in Iran. Since then, approximately ten US strategic bombers have been deployed to RAF Fairford in England.

On February 28, the United States and Israel began launching strikes against targets in Iranian territory, including the capital, Tehran, amid reports of destruction and civilian casualties. Iran has since launched retaliatory attacks on Israeli territory, as well as targeting US military installations in the Middle East.
