Telecommunications company XLSmart is targeting the expansion of its 5G network to 88 cities in Indonesia by 2026, after the service was previously available in 33 cities.
XLSmart Director and Chief Regulatory Officer, Merza Fachys, said that if the target is achieved, approximately 50 percent of Indonesia's population is expected to be within reach of the operator's 5G network.
"What's next after 33 cities? We're targeting 88 cities to have 5G service this year. If we reach 88 cities, that would be approximately 50 percent of Indonesia's population," Merza said at a media iftar.
