XLSmart predicts a 30 percent surge in telecommunications service traffic during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday period.
XLSmart Director and Chief Regulatory Officer Merza Fachys explained that the traffic spike was driven by the many holidays and the Work From Anywhere trend during the Eid holiday.
"We expect a bigger surge this year due to the increased number of holidays and the WFA. We predict a 30 percent traffic spike, with the peak typically occurring between three and three days before Eid al-Fitr 2026," Merza said.
To address the potential increase in traffic, XLSmart is strengthening its network at 500 strategic points of interest , including traveler locations, tourist attractions, train stations, airports, and terminals. XLSmart has also set up around 20 service posts along the homecoming route.
