The ministry said in a statement that "the number of martyrs killed by settlers in the West Bank since the beginning of this year has reached 16 martyrs, the youngest of whom is a 13-year-old child and the oldest of whom is 60 years old."
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported on Wednesday that the number of martyrs had reached 15 Palestinians, before it later rose.
The commission explained that the toll rose after the death of the young man, Awda Atef Awawda, who succumbed to injuries sustained from settlers’ bullets during an attack targeting the town of Deir Dibwan, east of Ramallah.
Israeli forces and settlers carried out a total of 1,819 attacks during the month of March, 1,322 of which were carried out by the Israeli occupation army, while settlers launched 497 attacks, according to a previous statement by the Authority.
These developments come amid a widespread escalation in settler and Israeli army attacks in the West Bank since October 2023, resulting in the deaths of more than 1,150 Palestinians and injuries to thousands, according to official Palestinian figures.
