The Israeli army announced on Sunday that one of its soldiers was killed during clashes in southern Lebanon, where a temporary ceasefire came into effect this week.
An army statement reported that “Lidor Porat, 31, from Ashdod, a soldier in Battalion 7106, Brigade 769, was killed during clashes in southern Lebanon.”
He added that another soldier was seriously injured in the same incident, along with four who sustained moderate injuries and four who sustained minor injuries.
Based on military data, the total number of Israeli army fatalities in the six-week-long war between Israel and Hezbollah has risen to 15.
This is the second time the army has announced the death of one of its soldiers in southern Lebanon since the start of the ten-day truce declared by the United States on Friday, as part of broader efforts to permanently end the war in the Middle East.
