Anthropic prepares AI model to ward off cyber attacks

Technology company Anthropic is running an initiative called Project Glasswing in an effort to ward off artificial intelligence (AI)-based cyber attacks using AI models.

According to an Engadget report on Wednesday, the initiative aims to "secure the world's most critical software" from AI-based attacks.

These efforts are being implemented in partnership with major technology companies and organizations such as Amazon Web Services, Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Google, JPMorgan Chase, the Linux Foundation, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Palo Alto Networks.

In the implementation of Project Glasswing, the companies and organizations involved will utilize Anthropic's latest AI model, Claude Mythos, which has not yet been released to improve their respective cybersecurity projects.

Mythos is a versatile model for Anthropic's Claude AI system, which the company claims has powerful agent coding and reasoning capabilities.

Anthropic claims the AI model has discovered thousands of exploitable cybersecurity vulnerabilities, including in various operating systems and web browsers.
