Apple is reportedly secretly building its own artificial intelligence (AI) chip, known internally as Baltra.
It is believed that to realize this chip, Apple will collaborate with the semiconductor company TSMC.
As reported the "Baltra" chip is expected to support the company's internal cloud infrastructure, with a focus on secure data processing and AI workloads on the server side.
If this is true, it marks a major shift as Apple expands beyond consumer hardware into large-scale AI computing.
The Baltra chip will likely be manufactured by TSMC on its second-generation 3nm process (N3E).
