Barcelona's women's football team continued to make history under coach Pere Romeo, after winning the Spanish league title for the seventh time in a row and the eleventh time in the club's history.
Barcelona secured the Spanish Women's League title four rounds before its end, with a 4-1 victory over Espanyol in the Catalan derby, which brought them together in the 26th round of the league, raising their tally to 75 points and moving 16 points clear of Real Madrid.
The Catalan team now boasts the second-best streak of consecutive titles in the major European leagues, surpassing Chelsea Women’s record of six consecutive titles. Only Olympique Lyonnais Women of France, with 14 consecutive titles between 2006 and 2020, surpasses this record.
Barcelona's strength is not limited to winning titles, but extends to a remarkable goal-scoring record, as the team has succeeded in exceeding the 100-goal mark for the sixth time in its title-winning seasons.
The team scored 167 goals in the 2020-2021 season, 159 goals in 2021-2022, 137 goals in 2022-2023, 118 goals in 2023-2024, 137 goals in 2024-2025, and 116 goals in the current season with four games remaining.
In addition to their offensive superiority, the team has shown remarkable defensive solidity, as this is the seventh consecutive season in which they have won the title without conceding more than 15 goals.
Star player Alexia Botias stands out as the player with the most league titles in the club's history with nine titles, followed by her teammate Aitana Bonmatí, who raised her tally to seven titles.
Barcelona focused on their preparations to face German club Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the Women's Champions League, with the aim of continuing their journey towards their fourth European title after 2020, 2023 and 2024.
