Covid-19: Morocco closes its doors to travelers from China

Morocco decided on Saturday to close its doors to travelers from China starting January 3.

And for good reason: the end of the "zero COVID" policy decreed by Beijing on December 7th. This lifting of restrictions has caused a surge in coronavirus infections in the country.

By prohibiting access to its territory for travelers from the provinces of the country of the great wall, the Sharifian kingdom intends to protect itself from a new wave of contamination.

France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, like the United States and South Korea, decided this week to impose a Covid test on travelers coming from China.

Preventive measures deemed "understandable" by the Director-General of the World Health Organization in view of the lack of information provided by Beijing.

China reported some 5,100 new positive cases and one additional death related to Covid-19 on Sunday. These figures are widely considered to be underestimates and appear to be completely out of step with the reality on the ground.
