Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir reported plans to build a National Sports Academy and a national team training center to President Prabowo Subianto in Hambalang, Bogor.
"Today, we reported to President Prabowo Subianto the plan to build the National Sports Academy and National Team Training Center. This area will develop athletes from an early age, enabling them to become ambassadors for the nation, reflecting Indonesia's prowess on the global stage," Erick Thohir said in a post on Instagram, as quoted.
The area is designed as a development center for the continuous development of athletes. The development process will begin at a young age and continue through to the national team level, strengthening Indonesia's competitiveness in international sports.
In addition to discussing infrastructure projects, the Minister of Youth and Sports also expressed his appreciation for the government's attention to the welfare of athletes. This relates to the financial support the government has provided in the form of bonuses for medals won in regional sports competitions.
