Garuda Jaya avenged their defeat against Surabaya Samator in the second match for third place with a score of 3-2 (25-23, 22-25, 19-25, 25-22, 15-13) at the Amongrogo Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, Wednesday.
With this victory, Garuda Jaya leveled the score at 1-1 after losing to Samator in their first meeting 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-20). This result sent the two teams into a best-of-three decider .
Both teams competed closely in the second match. Garuda Jaya showed stronger resistance from the first set. After a back-and-forth, Garuda Jaya managed to score two crucial points to win the first set 25-23.
Nur Widayanto's team didn't let up their attack in the second set. However, Samator didn't let up. Rama Fazza Fauzan and his teammates tried to minimize errors and capitalize on opportunities to win the second set 25-22, leveling the score at 1-1.
