Hoo Haa Cup 2026 will be the stage for senior international badminton

 

  The 2026 Hundred Hoo Haa Cup international senior badminton tournament will be held on June 12–14, 2026, at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, with a target of attracting more than 3,000 participants from various countries.

Tournament director Marlev Mainaky said the high level of interest since registration opened on February 1 demonstrated the continued need for international senior badminton competitions.

"We received a very high level of enthusiasm, both from within the country and abroad," Marlev said at a press conference at the Indonesia Kaya Gallery.

The tournament will feature various age categories ranging from 35 years to 70 years, which includes men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.

In addition, the committee also presents a number of special categories such as 3 on 3, combined age, VVIP category, and the OPEN MAX.35 category which is open to players under 35 years of age.

A number of participants from various countries have registered, including from Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, Canada, China, Taiwan, the Netherlands, Colombia, India, and several countries in Africa.

Tournament co-founder Marcia Hutagalung said the event provides a platform for senior players to continue competing in a structured manner.

"This tournament is a momentum for the players to continue their journey in badminton," he said.

Meanwhile, Marketing and Promotion Manager of PT Mentari Cemerlang Indonesia, Sharan Kumar, assessed that this tournament has the potential to strengthen the national sports ecosystem.

"We see this event as an important platform to strengthen Indonesia's position as a center of badminton activity," he said.

Registration for the 2026 Hundred Hoo Haa Cup will close on May 24, with the participants announced on May 26 and the draw for the matches on June 2. A technical meeting is scheduled for June 11.

A number of Indonesian badminton legends such as Hariyanto Arbi, Flandy Limpele, and Bobby Ertanto are scheduled to enliven this tournament.

The committee also prepared supporting activities such as a culinary bazaar and entertainment during the tournament.
