Since dawn on Wednesday, Israel has launched air and artillery attacks on 52 cities, towns and areas in Lebanon, resulting in the death of 18 people, including three paramedics, and the injury of 4 others, according to data from the Lebanese News Agency as of 13:45 GMT.
For the eighth day, the Israeli occupation army continues its violent strikes on Lebanon, despite the United States and Iran announcing on April 8 a two-week truce that Iran and Pakistan said included Lebanon, while Washington and Tel Aviv denied this.
This comes a day after direct talks in Washington, the first of their kind in 43 years between Lebanon and Israel, which lasted for two and a half hours, and at the end of which the two sides agreed to begin peace negotiations, the place and time of which will be determined later.
The meeting marked the first high-level, wide-ranging contact between the governments of Israel and Lebanon since 1983.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that “the Israeli enemy targeted ambulance teams three times in succession in the town of Mefdoun in the Nabatieh district, resulting in the martyrdom of three paramedics.”
The ministry said that an ambulance team from the Islamic Health Authority affiliated with Hezbollah was targeted while trying to rescue the wounded, resulting in the death of one paramedic, while the second paramedic is still missing.
According to the ministry, a second ambulance belonging to the health authority was targeted while attempting to rescue the paramedics, resulting in injuries to three paramedics. In a third rescue attempt, two ambulances, one from the Al-Risala Association and the other from the Nabatieh Ambulance Service, were also targeted, leading to the deaths of two paramedics and injuries to three others.
The ministry condemned “the heinous crime that reflects the Israeli enemy’s insistence on preventing paramedics from carrying out their rescue work in any way.”
Material damage
Regarding material damage, the raids caused extensive damage and destruction to a large number of homes and residential areas. The Israeli occupation army also carried out widespread demolition operations targeting homes in the towns of Naqoura and Hanin.
On April 8, the United States and Iran announced a two-week truce, mediated by Pakistan, as a prelude to reaching a final agreement to end the war that Washington and Tel Aviv launched against Tehran on February 28, which left thousands dead and wounded.
Despite Islamabad and Tehran confirming that the truce includes Lebanon, which Israel expanded its aggression against on March 2, Washington and Tel Aviv denied this, and the Israeli occupation army launched strikes on Lebanon on Wednesday, described as the “most violent” since the start of the aggression, resulting in at least 357 martyrs and 1,223 wounded on the first day of the truce, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
In total, the extensive and ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon since March 2 has resulted in 2,124 martyrs, 6,921 wounded, and more than one million displaced persons.
Israel occupies areas in southern Lebanon , some for decades, and others since the last war between October 2023 and November 2024.
