Former World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder defeated Derek Chisora in a fight in London, England, Sunday WIB.
Wilder scored a split decision victory after two judges scored it 115-111 and 115-113 for him, while one judge scored it 115-112 for Chisora.
The two boxers, both in their 50th professional fight, engaged in a fierce duel, in which both fell to the canvas.
Chisora, who appeared in front of the home crowd, immediately put pressure on from the first round with his typical style, namely continuing to advance and launching body shots .
Wilder mostly kept his distance with his jab while looking for opportunities to land right hands. There was a lot of clinching and pushing, and both men almost fell out of the ring.
In the fifth through eighth rounds, Wilder began to find his rhythm and landed several hard right hands. Chisora was wobbly and nearly knocked out, but he managed to survive.
