Garuda Jaya coach Nur Widayanto said his players' open playing style was the key to their victory over Surabaya Samator in the second match for third place in the 2026 Proliga at the Amongrogo Sports Hall in Yogyakarta.
"The boys played more openly compared to the first match," said Nur Widayanto after Garuda Jaya's victory over Samator with a score of 3-2 (25-23, 22-25, 19-25, 25-22, 15-13).
With this victory, Garuda Jaya equalized the score to 1-1 after previously being defeated by Samator in the first meeting with a score of 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-20).
This result means the competition between the two teams will continue to the deciding match because it uses a best-of-three format which is scheduled for Thursday (23/4) at 16.00 WIB.
Widayanto said his team played more openly, enabling them to block Samator's attacks and launch counterattacks.
