Indonesian athletics won eight gold medals and one silver medal at the Singapore Open

 

  The Indonesian athletics team won eight gold medals and one silver medal at the 86th Singapore Open Track & Field Championships 2026 at the National Stadium in Singapore.

The General Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI), Marciano Norman, in an official statement in Jakarta, Thursday, congratulated and appreciated the achievements of the athletes fostered by the Executive Board of the All-Indonesia Athletics Association (PB PASI) who proved themselves to be patriots of Indonesian athletics in the event.

"This achievement is expected to motivate young athletes and serve as evaluation material for improving their performance to a higher level," he said.

At the championship, held from April 15-17, PB PASI fielded a team consisting of 15 athletes, five coaches, and three support staff. The athletes performed well, winning a total of nine medals.

Athlete from North Sumatra, Daniel Simanjuntak, performed brilliantly by winning two gold medals in the 5,000 meters (14:35.25) and 10,000 meters (31:20.79).

Yad Hafizudin also won gold in the 1,500-meter event with a time of 3:54.34. In the field events, Maria Natalia Londa won gold in the triple jump with a leap of 12.94 meters.
