The Indonesian Wushu Executive Board (PB WI) stated that the Indonesian wushu sport continues to demonstrate consistency by maintaining its achievement in the top three in several editions of the Junior Wushu World Championships.
"Of course (the Indonesian National Wushu Team's third-place finish at the 2026 World Junior Wushu Championships) is something we should be grateful for. Wushu can maintain its achievements over time," said Gunawan Tjokro, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Wushu Association.
Indonesian Wushu has maintained its impressive performance, finishing in the top three at the World Junior Wushu Championships. At the 8th World Junior Wushu Championships in 2022, held at ICE BSD in Tangerang, Banten, the Indonesian Wushu National Team finished third with 10 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals.
Furthermore, Indonesian Wushu won second place at the 9th Junior Wushu World Championships in 2024 in Brunei Darussalam after collecting 10 gold, 10 silver, and 9 bronze medals.
In the latest event, namely the 10th Junior Wushu World Championship in 2026 in Tianjin, China, the Indonesian Wushu Team also secured third place after collecting 9 gold, 11 silver, and 7 bronze medals.
