Laurent Mekies has identified Red Bull's weakest component

Red Bull Team Principal Laurent Mekies said he has identified Red Bull's weaknesses that need to be addressed in the future.

Mekies said he had analyzed in detail the reasons why his two drivers, Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar, failed to compete in the Japanese Grand Prix which took place at the Suzuka Circuit on Sunday.

Verstappen could only manage to finish eighth, while Isack Hadjar dropped out of the top ten and finished 12th in the Suzuka race.

"We are learning more about the limitations of our current car," Mekies was quoted as saying by Formula 1.

Mekies revealed that going forward, he would be more actively involving Verstappen and Hadjar in component development to make them more competitive.

"It's important for us to be involved in the race now and for Max and Isack to complete the race distance, so we can continue to gather more data," said Mekies.
