The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that "a young Palestinian man was shot by Israeli forces after they opened fire on a number of Palestinian workers, resulting in one of them being wounded," noting that the young man was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Israeli occupation army pursues Palestinian workers and fires live ammunition at them as they try to reach their workplaces inside Israel and Jerusalem, resulting in the injury and death of many of them during the past months and years.
Since the start of the war of extermination in Gaza in October 2023, Israel has been preventing Palestinian workers from returning to their workplaces, so some of them resort to crossing dangerous alternative routes.
Abuse of two children
In this context, Israeli soldiers abused two Palestinian children on Saturday in the town of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah in the central West Bank, during their detention following a raid on the town.
A video circulated by activists on social media showed a number of Israeli soldiers detaining the two children. One of the soldiers forcibly grabbed the first child and pushed him as he tried to escape from his hands, while other soldiers detained the second child.
In another clip, the two children appeared sitting on the ground near the Israeli military vehicle, just before it withdrew from the area.
Local sources reported that a force from the Israeli occupation army stormed the town of Al-Mughayyir, and the towns of Birzeit north of Ramallah and Beitunia, without any arrests being reported.
Palestinian children are subjected to attacks and violations during raids carried out by the Israeli occupation army in the West Bank.
According to official data, Israel is holding approximately 360 children in its prisons, who are suffering from difficult conditions no different from those suffered by older prisoners.
settler attacks
Meanwhile, on Saturday evening, settlers set fire to a house and a vehicle in the town of Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah in the central West Bank.
Local sources said that "a number of settlers stormed the town and burned a house and a vehicle belonging to two Palestinian families, before the residents were able to repel the attack and force the settlers to withdraw, without any injuries being reported."
Turmus Ayya is witnessing repeated attacks by settlers, targeting citizens’ homes and properties, coinciding with the seizure of large areas of the town’s land for settlement expansion.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission (governmental), settlers and the Israeli occupation army carried out 497 attacks in the West Bank during the month of March, 292 of which were in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate (central).
The West Bank has witnessed an escalation in attacks by settlers and the Israeli occupation army since October 2023, which has led to the martyrdom of more than 1,149 Palestinians, the injury of about 11,750, in addition to the arrest of nearly 22,000, according to official Palestinian data.
