Liam Rosenior calls on Chelsea to bounce back from difficult times

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has urged his players to quickly recover from their difficult period in order to secure a top-five finish and secure a place in next season's Champions League.

Chelsea will play away against Brighton & Hove Albion in the 34th week of the 2025/2026 Premier League at the American Express Stadium with them needing to emerge victorious if they want to compete in Europe.

"Now it's about character; it's about rising up. It's about who's willing, in difficult moments, to stand up for the shirt and fight. That's what I'm looking for tomorrow," said Rosenior, as quoted on Chelsea's official website.

"But I believe in them, and I'm sure we can get through this period much stronger, but we have to get through this phase properly now," he added.

The Blues are now in danger of not playing in Europe's top flight next season after they were stuck in sixth place with 48 points, seven points behind Liverpool in fifth.

Chelsea are in this undesirable situation because they have always lost and failed to score in the last few matches in the league, starting from losing 0-1 to Newcastle United, 0-3 to Everton, 0-3 to Manchester City, and finally losing 0-1 to Manchester United.

"The goal is to go as far as possible," said Rosenior. "The only way to do that is to focus on the next game. We have to go into the match against Brighton with the mentality to win," he added.
