Meta has launched the ability for users to edit the comments they leave on Instagram posts, but only during a specific time period.
According to Meta, the edit must be made within 15 minutes of the original comment being posted.
You can only edit comments you wrote from your personal account, and the editing process itself is very easy. Just click on the word "Edit" below your comment to bring up a text window where you can edit, rephrase, or improve what you wrote, then click on the blue checkmark to save the changes.
Meta confirms that comments can be edited as many times as you want during the 15-minute period, so if you need to make more changes, that option is available to you.
Comments appear in several ways across Instagram, including Stories starting in 2024, so providing a way to edit them is a welcome addition.
This new feature is the latest in a series of changes Meta has made to the app over the past month. Earlier in March, the company announced it would be removing end-to-end encryption from Instagram Direct messages.
At the end of the same month, Meta also began testing Instagram Plus, a subscription service that unlocks new features for the app's Stries feature.
