Minimizing potential problems is the key for PP FPTI to achieve success

The Secretary General of the Central Board of the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation  Wahyu Pristiawan Buntoro, stated that the board's commitment to minimizing potential problems in every organizational policy is key to achieving success in Indonesian rock climbing at the world level.

According to him, organizational dynamics are an unavoidable challenge, especially in the organization's 38th year since its founding.

"As long as we can mitigate or minimize potential problems and know who should take on what roles, an organization will run well," Pristiawan said when contacted by ANTARA from Jakarta on Tuesday evening.

He explained that this approach is key for PP FPTI to continue to develop while ensuring the stability of athlete development is maintained amidst the ongoing changing situation.

He further explained that the success of the sport of rock climbing in reaching the Olympics and winning a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics through Veddriq Leonardo is an important foundation that must be maintained continuously.

He stated that the PP FPTI has a big responsibility to maintain this achievement so that it is not just a temporary achievement, but also has a real impact on the development of rock climbing sports in the country.

The man, who is also the Manager of the 2026 Indonesian National Rock Climbing Training Team, added that the organization is currently continuing the founders' big dream by ensuring optimal athlete regeneration and a more structured coaching system.

In addition, good coordination between stakeholders is considered an important factor in maintaining consistent athlete performance at the international level.

As the organization matures, he said, the central management is optimistic that it can continue to achieve success and strengthen the foundation of Indonesian rock climbing for the long term. Through adaptive governance that is responsive to challenges, this goal can be achieved.

Meanwhile, PP FPTI has successfully qualified a total of 10 people consisting of athletes from the speed , lead , and boulder disciplines to compete in the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, in Japan in September.
