Telecommunications observer Heru Sutadi believes that digital platforms Roblox and YouTube must comply with Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of Electronic Systems for Child Protection to ensure children's safety in the digital space.
According to Heru, the regulation, known as PP Tunas, ensures that digital platforms provide protection from the design stage to operation, including mitigating risks such as exposure to harmful content, interactions with others, and addiction.
"Compliance with Roblox and YouTube is crucial. Regulations require every platform accessible to children to provide age verification, age restrictions, and a content reporting mechanism," Heru said when contacted.
