Ericsson Indonesia President Director Nora Wahby stated that 5G technology is a critical infrastructure that is the main driving force for growing artificial intelligence (AI) innovation and Indonesia's digital economy, supporting the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.
As a practitioner of connectivity and network technology, Nora said that the connectivity currently dominating in Indonesia, such as 4G and other traditional connectivity technologies, if not immediately upgraded to 5G, will no longer be sufficient to support the needs of AI innovation development in the future.
"To support the future development of the AI industry, existing connectivity is no longer sufficient. 4G and Wi-Fi are no longer reliable for developing artificial intelligence," Nora said during a discussion at the IndoTelko 2026 forum.
