In a stunning upset, Southampton managed to eliminate their hosts Arsenal from the FA Cup by winning 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the prestigious tournament.
Southampton started the match strongly, and managed to surprise Arsenal with an early goal scored by Ross Stewart in the 35th minute, taking advantage of a gap in the London team's defense.
Despite Arsenal's dominance in the second half, the equalizer only came in the 68th minute through Swede Victor Gyokeres.
But in the crucial moments, striker Shea Charles had other ideas, scoring the decisive winning goal for Southampton in the 85th minute, ending the match with a victory for the hosts and their qualification for the semi-finals.
The FA Cup, in which Arsenal holds the record for most wins with 14, became the second trophy the London team has lost this season, after losing 0-2 to Manchester City in the League Cup final.
Arsenal will have another tournament on Tuesday, when they visit Sporting Lisbon in Portugal for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
