The board of directors of Al-Ahly Club of Egypt is facing an escalating technical and administrative crisis related to the future of Danish coach Jess Torup, in light of the decline in results and the loss of technical stability of the team during the recent period

According to what has been said within the club, the technical conviction to continue with the coach has begun to decline clearly, as the planning committee believes that continuing with Torop may threaten the team’s chances of competing for championships, which has made the option of terminating the contract strongly on the table before the start of the new season, despite its large financial cost.

In this context, journalist Khaled El-Ghandour revealed that there are moves within the club to reach an amicable settlement with the coach, instead of resorting to paying the penalty clause in full, noting that the administration has made a financial offer estimated at about $1.3 million, to be paid in installments, in exchange for terminating the contract by mutual consent.

Al-Ahly's management aims, through this step, to reduce financial losses, especially since the coach's contract stipulates that he receives all his remaining dues in the event of immediate dismissal, which constitutes a significant financial burden on the club at the present stage.

Intensive negotiations are currently underway between the two parties through the coach's lawyers, amid Al-Ahly's desire to resolve the matter quickly to avoid any legal disputes that may reach FIFA, and delay the contracting of a new technical staff.

The final decision remains contingent on the outcome of negotiations in the coming days, as Al-Ahly hopes to reach an amicable agreement to end the crisis, while Torop retains the right to claim the full value of his contract if a satisfactory settlement is not reached.
