Indonesian mixed doubles pair Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah have followed Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu into the second round of the BWF World Tour Super 500 Thailand Open 2026.
Amri/Nita had to fight for three games before defeating French representatives Julien Maio/Lea Palermo with a score of 17-21, 22-20, 21-8 at Nimibutr Stadium, Bangkok.
"In the first and second games, we had a lot of miscommunication on the court, and there was a lot of uncertainty about who would take the ball. So they kept giving it to the middle," Amri said in an official PBSI statement after the match.
In the second game, the Indonesian pair were again under pressure and fell behind, but managed to force a set before finally turning things around to equalize.
Amri said that successfully securing the second game was a turning point for their revival in the match.
