The Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) released the results of the 2026 Indonesian Internet Profile Survey, which recorded internet penetration in the country reaching 81.7 percent, equivalent to 235,261,078 people out of Indonesia's total population of 287,303,234.
This survey provides a comprehensive overview of internet penetration rates, internet user behavior, digital access patterns, cybersecurity levels, and the development of fixed broadband internet services in Indonesia.
"Based on the latest survey by APJII, Indonesia currently has a population of around 287 million. And by 2026, Indonesia's internet penetration is projected to increase compared to 2025," said APJII Chairman Muhammad Arif in a statement received.
This figure shows an increase compared to the previous year which was at 80.66 percent, and also shows that the internet has become a primary need for Indonesian people in various sectors of life.
Arif said the increase in internet penetration demonstrates that the national digital transformation continues to move progressively and become more inclusive.
