Bruno Paraiba officially parted ways with Persebaya Surabaya

Brazilian player Bruno Paraiba officially announced his departure from Persebaya Surabaya to compete in the 2026/2027 BRI Super League competition, which he announced via social media after the end of this season.

Bruno, via a post on his personal Instagram account, which was monitored on Sunday, expressed his gratitude to all supporters and the club for their support during his time with Persebaya over the past five months.

"I want to thank all the supporters and everyone who is part of Persebaya," wrote Bruno.

The Brazilian striker admitted that he had suffered an injury in January 2026, which sidelined him for almost two months. However, he continued to show his dedication to the team during his recovery period.

Bruno said the decision to discontinue the partnership was taken after discussions with the club's coach and management, particularly considering the extent of his injury.

"After speaking with the coach and management, it was decided that the club would not continue working with me," said the 31-year-old player.

However, the former Gimpo FC player still admitted that he was grateful to have been part of Persebaya and wished the best for the club nicknamed Bajul Ijo.

"I remain incredibly grateful for all the experiences I've had here and I wish the best for everyone who is part of this club," he said.

Bruno Paraiba was brought in by Persebaya in the second round of the 2025/2026 BRI Super League and immediately scored a goal on his debut match against PSIM Yogyakarta last January.
During his time with Persebaya in the 2025/2026 season, Bruno appeared in 11 matches, scoring five goals and two assists in a total of 337 minutes of playing time.

One of his best performances came during Persebaya's 7-0 win over Semen Padang in week 33, when he scored three goals as a substitute.
