Riekerink is proud of Dewa United's performance this season

Dewa United coach Jan Olde Riekerink expressed pride in his team's performance during the 2025/2026 BRI Super League season.

Quoted from the club's official website on Sunday, Riekerink assessed that the players had shown extraordinary consistency, especially after successfully recovering from a difficult start to the season.

"Of course, I know everyone wants a bigger result or better points, but I'm very proud of my team and what they've achieved, especially in the previous matches. I think we've gone 15 matches without losing just one," said Riekerink.

The Dutch coach believes that the spirit of togetherness was the main factor that enabled Dewa United to recover and continue fighting until the end of the season. Even when the situation was challenging, the players maintained the same commitment.

Dewa United had to settle for finishing seventh in the 2025/2026 BRI Super League standings with 53 points from 34 matches.

This achievement failed to repeat their success from last season, as they managed to finish second in the final standings in the 2024/2025 BRI Super League competition.

"The feeling at the end of the season was certainly different. But even after a bad start, we stuck together, and I think that showed today," said Riekerink.

"Because at the end of the day, we're probably just fighting for sixth or seventh place. People might say it's not a big deal, but for us it's important," he said.

In the final week of the 2025/2026 Super League, Dewa United suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat when hosting Bali United at the Banten International Stadium, Serang, Friday (22/5) evening.
