China opens global AI education service platform

 

  China   announced the launch of a global AI education service platform at the 2026 World Digital Education Conference in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, aiming to promote cross-border sharing of high-quality educational resources and further integrate AI into education.

This launch is part of the broader expansion of Smart Education of China, a digital education platform that is now accessible in around 220 countries and regions.

The upgraded platform expands its international services with new features, including a lifelong learning center and a Mandarin language learning community.

The conference, held from May 11 to 13, also saw the launch of a report outlining the progress of China's innovative policies and practices in smart education.

An initiative on AI education was also launched at the event, calling for the better use of AI to support comprehensive and sustainable human development. The initiative also urges stronger efforts to bridge the global digital divide by better leveraging smart education platforms to share high-quality digital resources and tools.
