Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria said that regulations regarding artificial intelligence (AI) technology, particularly those related to governance, cannot be made in a reactionary manner considering its rapid development.
"Because technology is developing so rapidly, we must not be impulsive, nor should we regulate it in a reactionary manner. Technology is still finding its way into the health, education, transportation, and financial services sectors," said Deputy Minister Nezar in a press statement received and confirmed on Saturday.
Discussing the development of AI, Nezar said that AI was initially known through chatbots . It then evolved into agentic AI and even physical AI combined with robotics technology.
