Exercise that improves cardiovascular health

A recent study has shown that high-intensity interval training (HIIT) is one of the best forms of exercise for improving cardiovascular health

The researchers analyzed the results of 37 studies involving more than 6,800 patients with cardiovascular problems and found that exercise is beneficial for overall vascular health. However, this effect depends on the type of exercise. The most noticeable improvements were observed in people who practiced high-intensity interval training (HIIT), which helped to widen their blood vessels, a key indicator of vascular health. Moderate exercise also achieved positive results, but to a much lesser extent.

Scientists believe that alternating between rest and high exertion during HIIT exercises increases blood flow and stimulates the production of nitric oxide, a substance that protects blood vessels and improves their elasticity.

The researchers suggest that these findings could change cardiac rehabilitation methods: more intensive programs, when properly monitored, can be more effective than traditional programs. They emphasize the importance of selecting activities that are appropriate for the patient's condition and supervised by specialists.

Health experts confirm that regular exercise contributes to strengthening the heart muscle and blood vessel walls, and helps to lower levels of bad cholesterol, thus reducing the risk of clogged arteries and high blood pressure.
