Google has announced its new generation of laptops, designed to offer users premium services powered by artificial intelligence.
The most notable feature of the anticipated Googlebook computers is the Smart Cursor, which activates the Gemini AI assistant as soon as the mouse cursor is moved quickly from side to side on the screen. A pop-up window appears for the user, offering tips and additional functions depending on the item on the screen. For example, when the cursor is hovered over an image, the system suggests creating new content inspired by it, or provides the user with information about it.
The artificial intelligence in these computers also helps in creating custom widgets and shortcuts. Gemini relies on multiple sources including the internet, Google applications such as Calendar and Email, as well as direct instructions from the user to create them. Simply put, the device owner can describe in words the shape of the icon or shortcut window they want, and the system creates it immediately.
Googlebook computers and their operating interfaces integrate perfectly with devices running modern "Android-16" systems, as the computer owner can run applications on his computer by downloading them from the Googlebook online store or through his phone paired with the computer, and deal with the files on his computer or phone with ease.
The first Googlebook devices are expected to be unveiled in the fall of 2026, as Google is working on manufacturing them in collaboration with several companies such as ASUS, Acer, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. All of these devices will feature chassis made of high-quality materials and will contain the Glowbar that previously appeared in Pixel C computers.
