Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria said that Indonesia is prioritizing a collaborative approach in developing the artificial intelligence (AI) industry amid rising global geopolitical rivalries.
As major powers strengthen their control over technology, Indonesia is taking a stance to promote a balance between the state's role and cross-sector collaboration to build an open, inclusive, and competitive AI ecosystem.
"On behalf of the government, we are always open to collaboration, not only relying on the government's role but also encouraging all industrial sectors and stakeholders to work together in a single ecosystem to build the AI industry and provide broad access," Nezar said in a statement confirmed .
Nezar emphasized that this approach is a strategic choice for Indonesia amidst global trends that encourage state dominance over technology.
