US intelligence reports indicated that the Iranian military had largely retained its missile capabilities , contrary to statements by US President Donald Trump’s administration that the military had been “completely destroyed.”
The American newspaper reported on Tuesday evening, based on secret intelligence documents dating back to last May, that Iran had regained access to 30 out of 33 missile bases in the Strait of Hormuz.
The newspaper added that Iran still retains about 70 percent of its missile stockpile that it had before the war, in addition to mobile launch platforms.
She stated that approximately 90 percent of the underground missile storage and launch facilities across the country are now “partially or fully operational.”
Commenting on the report, White House Deputy Press Secretary Olivia Wells reiterated the US administration's statements regarding the "crushing" of the Iranian military.
Wells said that anyone who believes the Iranian military has been restructured is “either fooling themselves or speaking on behalf of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.”
For his part, US President Donald Trump explained in a post on his “Truth Social” platform on Tuesday evening that suggesting that the Iranian army is still in good shape “almost amounts to treason.”
It is worth noting that some American media outlets have recently published reports stating that Iran still possesses a large military force, which Trump has repeatedly and vehemently denied, asserting that the Iranian army has been “destroyed.”
