The New Orleans Pelicans have appointed Jamahl Mosley as their new head coach for next season's NBA season after the team failed to make the playoffs for two consecutive seasons and was hit by injuries to key players.
The NBA website said that the club announced Mosley's appointment to end the interim tenure of James Borrego, who led the team in 70 games this season.
Mosley comes to New Orleans after five seasons with the Orlando Magic, with a record of 189 wins and 221 losses.
He led the Magic to the playoffs in the last three seasons, although they were always eliminated in the first round.
Mosley's presence is expected to revive the Pelicans, who struggled to perform consistently last season due to a storm of injuries to several key players, including Zion Williamson and Dejounte Murray.
