Janice Tjen fends off her opponent's threat to advance to the second round of the Morocco Open

 

  Indonesian tennis player Janice Tjen successfully fended off a comeback from her opponent in the second set to advance to the second round of the 2026 Morocco Open.

Competing in the first round of the WTA 250 Rabat on Tuesday, top seed Janice successfully suppressed the resistance of Swedish tennis player Cajisa Wilda Hennemann to finish the match with a 6-1, 7-5 victory.

The first set went smoothly for Janice. Despite outperforming her opponent by three to one, Janice led in return percentage.

Moreover, the 24-year-old tennis player managed to score 76.9 percent of first serve points, and converted three of six break point opportunities.

It was a different story in the second set, as Hennemann rallied to take control of the match. The match was tight, with Janice serving up three aces, while the qualifier served up two .
